Abbey Lee Kershaw’s Early Life and Education:
She was conceived on June 12, 1987, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She is the daughter of a football player Kim Kershaw and a psychologist mother Kerry Kershaw. Growing up, she spent most of the time in hospitals. She suffered from meningitis at the age of four, had to have two spinal taps, had a tumor on the knee, and numerous broken bones.
She did not come from a wealthy family. Thus, she has worked various jobs like at McDonald’s, at a funfair, and as a grocery clerk. In 2004, she participated in the Australian Girlfriend Model Search and won the competition.
Talking about her academics, Kershaw attended St Michael’s Catholic Primary School in Melbourne. Furthermore, she graduated from the Academy of Mary Immaculate in Fitzroy.

After high school, she moved to Sydney in order to start her career as a model. In Sydney, Chic Management’s Kathy Ward scouted her and signed her within weeks. Eventually, in 2007, she was signed by Next Management and relocated to New York City. She made her debut in the New York Fashion Week 2008, where she walked 29 shows for designers like Halston, Oscar de la Renta, and closing for Rodarte.
The following year in 2008, she made her international television appearance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show where she modeled for the Pink Planet segment. In November 2009, Fashion TV put her in their First Face Countdown for Spring/Summer 2010. After a knee injury in 2009, she appeared in Milan Fashion Week walking for D&G, Versace, and Fendi, becoming “Milan’s Top Model”. Again on December 1, 2009, she had her second Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
