Rick Harrison is an American businessman and TV personality. He is best known as the owner of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop and the History reality TV show Pawn Stars.
Early Life and Education:
Richard Kevin Harrison was born on March 22, 1965, in Lexington, North Carolina, USA. He is the son of the American businessman Richard Benjamin Harrison and Joanne Rhue Harrison. He is the younger brother of Sherry Joanne Harrison who dies at the age of six and Joseph Kent Harrison and the older brother of Chris Harrison.
When he was two years old, his father transferred to San Diego, California and his family relocated there. He suffered from epileptic seizures when he was eight. He spends his childhood in bed most of the time where he developed a love of reading. His love for books grew particularly in history about the Royal Navy from the late 1700s to the early 1800s.
Talking about his education, Harrison attended Taft Middle School, a part of the San Diego Unified School District. But, he dropped out during his tenth grade. His family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada after the fall of his parents’ real estate business.
Rick Harrison’s Professional Life:
Harrison with his father Richard opened a store named the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in 1981. He worked at the shop during the daytime and repaired cars at night. After years, they moved their shop into a new building in a commercial neighborhood in Las Vegas. By 2006, their shop had developed a big reputation for carrying different sports items with unique histories.
Rick Harrison started a reality History TV show Pawn Stars in 2009. The show featured him with his father and son Corey Harrison and some of his childhood friends. In 2011, the show became the second-highest reality show behind Jersey Shore. Eventually, he became the spokesperson for the Micro Touch One Razor.
