Selena Quintanilla-Perez was an American singer, songwriter, model, businesswoman, model, and fashion designer. She was known as the “Queen of Tejano music”.
Selena’s Early Life and Education
She was born on April 16, 1971, in Lake Jackson, Texas, USA. She was the daughter of American singer Abraham Quintanilla and social worker Marcella Samora. Selena grew up with her two siblings, Suzette and A.B. Quintanilla. Her ethnic background was Hispanic and she held American citizenship.
Likewise, Selena graduated from the American School of Correspondence with a high school diploma. Likewise, she was accepted at Louisiana State University. She went on to attend Pacific Western University majoring in business administration.

Selena was most famous for her Tejano music. She is one of the most celebrated Mexican-American entertainers. She has released numerous albums like Selena in 1989, Entre a Mi Mundo in 1992, Amor Prohibido in 1994, and more. Her albums and songs have peaked at the charts of the Billboard. Moreover, her single “Somo la Flor” became her most popular song and Live! in 1993 won the 1994 Grammy Awards for Best Mexican/American album.

Selena was a married woman. Her love story was kind of a Romeo and Juliet, two lovers forced apart by the family. A young man named Chris Perez first met Selena in 1989 after joining the band Selena y Los Dinos. Gradually, the two began to like each other abd began dating secretly. Her sister found out about their love story and her father was the last to know about it.
He was not happy with the situation and threatened Perez to dismiss him off the band. Even after leaving the band he did not leave Selena and began dating secretly. Her father was worried Selena would leave the band after getting married to Perez and his hard work would be all wasted. No matter the situation, Selena went to Perez’s hotel room in one morning in 1992 and met him. The couple secretly tied their knots the same year and decided to keeo it a secret.
