Stephen Gyllenhaal is an American film director and poet. He is known for being the father of famous actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Stephen Gyllenhaal’s Early Life and Education
He was born on 4 October 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He is the son of his father Hugh Anders Gyllenhaal and his mother Virginia Lowrie. Stephen grew up with his brother Anders Gyllenhaal in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania. He belongs to the Swedish and English heritage and has American citizenship.
Likewise, he graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut with a degree in English.

However, after being together for 32 years, they couldn’t continue their life together. Hence, the pair finalized their divorce in 2009.
