She was born on 29 April 1970, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. She is the daughter of professor Robert Thurman and a fashion model Nena von Schlebrugge. Uma had a Buddhist upbringing along with her three brothers Ganden, Dechen, and Mipam, and a half-sister Taya from her father’s past marriage. She belongs to the English, Scottish, German, Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, Swedish, and Danish ethnic backgrounds.
Similarly, she attended Amherst Public School where she discovered her interest in acting. While attending Northfield Mount Hermon School, a preparatory school, she dropped out to pursue her acting career.

Uma Thurman is a divorced lady. She previously tied their knots twice in her life. She lastly shared her vows with American director and screenwriter Ethan Hawke. The couple walked down the aisle in 1998 in a private ceremony. Together, they became parents to two wonderful children Maya and Levon.
However, their marriage came to an end when she found out about Ethan’s extramarital affair with his children’s nanny. She divorced him in 2005 and went on with her own life. Prior to him, she tied her knots with English actor and filmmaker Gary Oldman. The couple shared their vows in 1990 but, he loved another woman rather than his wife. This complication lead to the couple’s separation in 1992. They did not have any children from their marriage.
