Bam Margera is an American professional skate border and stunt performer. He is also a musician, filmmaker, and TV personality. He rose to fame after appearing as the main cast of MTV’s Jackass.
Early Life and Education:
He was born on September 28, 1979, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA. His father’s name was Phil Margera and his mother’s name was April Cole. He is the younger brother of American musician Jess Margera and nephew of American TV personality Vincent Margera. His grandfather used to call him “Bam Bam” when he was three as he would purposely run into walls and over time his school friends named him “Bam”.
Regarding his academics, he attended West Chester High School. However, he dropped out his junior year as he had no interest in studying and did not graduate. The sole reason for his purpose of going to school was his friend Chris Rabb. Eventually, he got his GED later.
Bam Margera’s Professional Career:
Margera began his career as a skate border. During 1997 and 1998, he was sponsored by Toy Machine Skateboards and was a member of “Team Element”. In 2003, he appeared in the film Grind, which shows four men following a professional skate border from Chicago to California. He was later given his own series Jackass from 2003 to 2005 which became his breakthrough.
Later, he also created the show’s spin-off Viva La Bam and Bam’s Unholy Union. He also had a popular role in the pornographic movie The Fantastic Whores 4 in 2008. His movie Jackass 3D in October 2010 broke the box office record and at the same time, he appeared on Bam’s World Domination along with skate border Tim O’Connor. In March 2016, he along with his mother appeared on the VH1‘s reality TV show Family Therapy with Dr. Jean to address his self-destructive behavior.
As of 2016, he was no longer on the Element Team. During his early days, he was sponsored by different brands like Adio Footwear, Volcom, Destroyer Truck, Electric Sunglasses, etc. As of 2017, he retired from professional skateboarding. He has written, starred, and produced three independent movies. In December 2008, he released a Christmas-themed movie, Bam Margera Presents: Where the#$&% Is Santa. It is about him and his friends going to Artic Circle on a quest to find Santa Claus.
