Chris Pérez is an American guitarist, author, and songwriter. He is best known for being the lead guitarist of the band Selena y Los Dinos.
Chris Pérez’s Early Life and Education
He was born on August 14, 1969, in San Antonio, Texas, USA. He is the son of a computer programmer father Gilbert Perez and his mother Carmen Medina. His parents separated when he was only four and remarried another man. Chris belongs to the Hispanic heritage and holds an American nationality. His zodiac symbol is Leo.

Chris Pérez’s Professional Life
Chris began his career in 1986 when he joined Shelly Larez’s band and was a reputed guitarist. Eventually, he joined A.B. Quintanilla‘s band Selena y Los Dinos as their lead guitarist. Then after he formed the Chris Perez band and released their debut album Resurrection in 1999 which won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Music. The band separated after their second album Noche Mas. In 2012, he wrote a book about his life with Selena “To Selena, with Love” and was critically acclaimed.
Chris Pérez’s Personal Life
Chris Pérez is a divorced man. He first tied his knots with his girlfriend Selena Quintanilla. The duo began dating secretly when he joined the band Selena y Los Dinos. However, Selena’s father was not happy to find about their relationship and threatened to fire him if he didn’t end the relationship. He eventually got fired but didn’t stop loving his girlfriend. The couple secretly tied their knots and Abraham Quintanilla later accepted their marriage.
After two years Selena lost her life. Her friend and former manager Yolanda Salvidar shot her and she died two days later in the hospital. After the tragic death of his wife, to get out of the misery, he tied knots with a woman named Vanessa Villanueva in 2001. Together, they had two children. He revealed that he married her just to get out of the trauma he faced from the death of his wife Selena.
