Damon Wayans Jr. is an American actor and comedian. He is most famous for his role in the ABC sitcom Happy Endings.
Damon Wayans Jr.’s Early Life and Education:
He was born on November 18, 1982, in Huntington, Vermont, USA. He is the son of famous stand-up comedian and actor Damon Wayans and his mother Lisa Thorner. Damon grew up with his three younger siblings Michael, Kyla, and Cara. He holds an American nationality and belongs to the African-American heritage.
Furthermore, he attended Otis College of Arts and Design. Additionally, he studied acting at New York Film Academy just like his father to pursue a career in the movie industry.
Damon Wayans Jr.’s Professional Life:
Damon Wayans began his career as a child actor portraying Young Kevin in the feature film Blankman in 1994 with his father. He then appeared in the sitcom My Wife and Kids as John. Later, he worked as a staff writer for the series and for The Underground. In April 2011, he starred in the ABC comedy series Happy Endings playing Brad Williams alongside Eliza Coupe, Zachary Knighton, Elisha Cuthbert, and more. However, the series was called off in 2013.
For his depiction, NAACP Image Awards and Critic’s Choice Television Awards nominated him for his role on Happy Endings. In 2011, he portrayed the supporting role of Coach in the sitcom New Girl. After the cancellation of Happy Endings in 2013, he came back to New Girl for the third season and remained in the series for the rest of the season. In 2018, he starred in the sitcom Happy Together along with Amber Stevens West. Unfortunately, the series was canceled after the thirteenth episode because of very low ratings.
In 2014, he starred in the comedy movie Let’s Be Cops and gave his voice to Wasabi in the animated superhero movie Big hero 6. His father on the other hand is a very successful stand-up comedian and actor. He considers his father and uncles as one of the main reasons to enter the entertainment business.
