Jenni Rivera was an American singer, songwriter, TV producer, philanthropist, spokesperson, and entrepreneur.
Jenni Rivera’s Early Life and Education:
She was conceived on July 2, 1969, in Long Beach, California, USA. She was the daughter of a famous record producer father, Pedro Rivera, and mother, Rosa Saavedra. Jenni grew up alongside her five siblings, four brothers, Juan, Gustavo, Pedro Jr., and Lupillo, and a sister, Rosie. She belonged to the Mexican heritage and her zodiac sign was Cancer.
Jenni attended California State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and worked in real estate for some time before working for her father’s record label.
Jenni Rivera’s Professional Life:
Rivera started recording music in 1992 with her music themes being social issues, relationships, and infidelity. She released her first album Si Quieres Verne Llorar in the late ’90s which wasn’t a commercial success. She rose to wider prominence in Mexico and the U.S. with her major-label debut, Parrandera, Rebelde y Atrevida. Rivera was often criticized for her Banda music.
Nonetheless, in 2007, she won the Lo Nuestro Award for Regional Mexican Female Artist of the Year nine times and grew her popularity even more. Likewise, her album Jenni in 2010 became her first No. 1 album on the Billboard Top Latin Album Chart in the U.S. Moreover, she produced and appeared in the reality television series Jenni Rivera Presents: Chiqis & Raq-C in 2010. She debuted in the movie Filly Brown in 2013. Unfortunately, she died in a plane crash in 2012.
Jenni Rivera’s Personal Life:
Jenni was married three times in her lifetime. She gave birth to her daughter Janney Marin Rivera while still in high school in 1985. She later tied her knots with the baby’s father, Jose Trinidad Marin and again gave birth to another two children, Jacquline and Michael. However, their marriage came to an end in 1992 because of emotional and physical abuse.
