Shawn Wayans is an American comedian, writer, DJ, and producer. He is also famous for being a member of the Wayans family of entertainers.
Shawn Wayans’ Early Life and Education:
He was born on January 19, 1971, in New York City, New York, USA. He is the ninth son of a supermarket manager father, Howell Stouten Wayans, and a homemaker and social worker mother, Elvira Alethia. Shawn grew up in Fulton Houses in Manhattan. He has his five sisters, Kim, Elvira, Deidra, Vonnie, and Nadia, and four brothers, Damon, Dwayne, Keenen, and Marlon.
Wayans attended and graduated from Bayard Rustin High School for the Humanities in 1989. However, it is unknown if he attended college and continued to study or not.
Shawn Wayans’ Professional Life:
Shawn Wayans began his career by working as a DJ SW-1 for his brother Keenen’s show In Living Color. Later, he became a featured performer and started working along with his brothers Dwayne, Marlon, Damon, and sister Kim. He along with Marlon starred and created their own sitcom The Wayans Bros. and co-executive produced, co-wrote, and starred in the comedy movie Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood in 1996.
Shawn guest-starred on many episodes of MacGyver and Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper. He also gave his voice for the character Toof in the animated children’s series Waynehead, a series based on his brother Damon’s childhood experiences. After his supporting role in the drama series New Blood in 1999, his movie career started to take a rise. He co-starred with his brother Keenen in the black comedy slasher movie Scary Movie and co-wrote Scream.
Likewise, he and his brother Marlon starred in the comedy movie White Chicks in 2004 portraying a pair of FBI agents forced to depict spoiled blonde heiresses. He teamed up with Marlon and co-wrote, co-acted, and co-produced the 2006 comedy movie, Little Man.
