Colin Cowherd is an American sports media personality. He is famous for hosting Fox Sports Radio and Fox Sports 1 show The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
Colin Cowerhd’s Early Life and Education:
He was born on January 6, 1964, in Aberdeen, Washington, USA. He is the son of an optometrist father Charles Cowherd and a British-born mother Patricia Cowherd (died 2014). Colin grew up in Grayland, Washington, a small fishing village, 130 miles outside Seattle. His parents got divorced when he was a kid and his older sister Marlene Cowherd was mainly raised by his mother.
He described himself as a loner growing up. He spent most of his time sitting on the roof and listened to baseball games on the radio.
Talking about his academics, Cowherd has not disclosed anything regarding his educational background. However, like most Americans, he must be a high school graduate. Furthermore, there is no reliable information if he has attended college or not.
Colin Cowherd’s Professional Career:
He started his career as the play-by-play voice for the San Diego Pares. Eventually, he became a sports director at KVBC in Las Vegas. From 1993 to 1995, Colin worked as a weekend sports host at WTVT in Tampa, Florida. In 2003, he replaced Tony Kornheiser for the late-morning time on ESPN Radio. The Herd with Colin Cowherd, a talk radio show broadcast on Fox Sports Radio.
From 2005 to 2015, ESPN Radio transmitted the show throughout the U.S. and online at ESPNRadio.com. In 2008, the Herd surprlus a simulcast on ESPNU. It featured commentary on sports news, interviews with famous sports figures and analysts, and so on. During his time on ESPN, he was a subject for many controversies for his number of comments about the death of professional wrestler Eddie Guerrero. Likewise, for his other controversial statements about Dominican Republic baseball players, he left ESPN in 2015.
