He was born on May 1, 1976, in Staten Island, New York, USA. However, there are no dependable details about his parents and siblings. He has kept their identities far from the web. He belongs to Italian and Irish ethnicity and his star sign is Taurus.
James attended Monsignor Farrell High School. While attending school, he with his classmates Joe Gatto, Sal Vulcano, and Brian Quinn formed up a high school improvisation club. The motive of the group was to mainly express themselves. After graduating high school, he went to Georgetown University.
James Murray’s Professional Life:
In 1998, he wrote, produced, and directed the movie Damned! starring Jeremy Guskin as Jesus in the alternate telling of the Bible. Soon after graduating from college, he reunited with his high school improvisation club. They practiced their improvisation at Gatto’s house prior to going on a tour for an improv and sketch comedy in 1999. They named their group, The Tenderloins.
The Tenderloins started producing comedy sketched and uploaded them on MySpace, YouTube, and Metacafe. Their videos started gaining millions of views online. In 2007, they won a grand prize of $100,000 in NBC‘s It’s Your Show competition for their sketch “Time Thugs”. Furthermore, their popularity skyrocketed and they started their own TV show, Impractical Jokers.
On December 15, 2011, their show premiered on TruTv. The show was viewed over 32 million times in its first season. In time, their show became one of the most popular series on the channel. In 2019, he along with his fellow members starred in The Misery Index, hosted by Jameela Jamil. It is a show based on Andy Beckman’s card game “Shit Happens”.
